宝石(Ruby Cabernet)原产美国，欧亚种。1948年美国加州大学以佳丽酿X赤霞珠杂交育成。我国于1980午后多次从美国、澳大利亚引入。目前河北沙城、昌黎，新疆鄯善，河南郑州和山东有少量栽培。

嫩梢黄绿色带红色条纹。幼叶浅红色。一年生枝黄褐色。成龄叶片中，心脏形，叶柄洼窄拱形，秋叶红色。两性花。果穗中，圆锥～圆柱形，果粒着生极紧，粒小，近圆形，蓝黑色。百粒重180～210g，每果有种子2～3粒，味酸甜，具“解百纳”香型。浆果含糖量160～180g／L，含酸量6～9g／L，出汁率68～72％。所酿之酒深宝石红色，味醇厚，酒体完整，回味绵延。

植株生长势较强，芽眼萌发率中，结实力强，产量高，较抗病、但易患灰霉病，适于立架栽培，中、短梢修剪。

该品种具典型“解百纳”的特性，它的栽培性状优于本类型其他品种，酒质优，若与赤霞珠、品丽珠勾兑，可制成优质的干红葡萄酒。适宜我国华北、西北等地栽培。
